Is this content AI-made?
Upload an image, video or audio file, or paste some text. We read the traces inside the file and prepare an evidence report that clearly says what we found and what we did not.
We do not keep the files and texts you upload. For files, only the report and the file's fingerprint (SHA-256) remain; for texts, only the report.
What do we look at?
C2PA Content Credentials
A signed record that many AI tools and cameras add to a file. It shows which tool created the file, whether the signature is valid and whether the file was changed after it was signed.
File metadata
EXIF, XMP, IPTC, PNG text fields and video/audio tags: the camera model, the name of the AI tool, image generation settings. Location data and prompt text are never written into the report.
Open-source watermarks
Open-source invisible watermarks such as TrustMark (Adobe), AudioSeal and Video Seal (Meta). These are optional add-ons; the report says which of them were checked.
Invisible characters in text
We show characters the eye cannot see, such as the zero-width space and the narrow no-break space, where they appear in the text. They are not AI watermarks, but they can hint at where the text was copied from.
What can't we do?
- Finding no traces does not prove that content is human-made. Many AI tools leave no traces at all. That is why we never call any content “human-made.”
- Social networks and messaging apps often remove Content Credentials and file metadata from uploaded files. If you have the original file, check that instead.
- Only Google, OpenAI and Anthropic can check the watermarks they add to text. There is no public tool for verifying these watermarks, so we cannot check them either.
- A report is a summary of evidence, not a final verdict. Unsigned file metadata is easy to change.
